Joe C. Bradford

Mr. Joe C. Bradford age 61, passed away Friday December 18, 2020 at his residence in Forest, MS. A visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS on Sunday December 20, 2020 from 12:30PM until 1:50PM with a funeral service to follow at 2:00PM. Services will be held under the portico. Brother Paul Smith will officiate. There will be no graveside services.

Mr. Bradford was a lifelong resident of Forest, MS. He was a Baptist by faith. Joe was a 1977 graduate of Forest High School and then attended Northwest Community College in the field of Mortuary Science. He utilized his degree in Mortuary Science by assisting families in the family business, Bradford Funeral Home. Joe went on to become coroner of Scott County where he served the community for twenty eight years, retiring in 2019. Joe also worked as a funeral director at Wolf Funeral Services for several years. Joe served as a District President of the MS. Coroners Association for several terms. He loved camping and spending time with his grandchildren and raising horses and going to the Dixie National.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Irene Bradford.

He is survived by his wife, René Comans Bradford of Forest, MS; one daughter, Nicole Waldrip (Matthew) of Sebastopol, MS; sister, Jeanne Rowland (Dr. Steve) of Laurel, MS; two grandchildren, Dylan Bagley and Matison Smith as well as a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family asks that masks be worn and for everyone attending to practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers a trust fund is being set up for his grandchildren's education. Details will be provided soon.
