Irene Bradford, 84, a resident of Forest passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Jasper County Nursing Home, Bay Springs, MS. Visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton today, March 20, 2011 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm and again on Monday from 8:00 until 9:45 am. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 in the chapel at 10:00 am with burial following in the Eastern Cemetery in Forest, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Patrick and Rev. Kenny Lang. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Irene was born and raised in Homewood, MS and she had lived in Forest for over 60 years and was a member of the Forest United Methodist Church in Forest, MS. She had worked as Store Manager of Lee’s Department Store in Forest for many years and she had worked for Tullos Law Firm in Raleigh for several years.
She is preceded in death by four brothers, Curtis, Marzelle, Billy Ferrell, and Luther Ray Stokes and one sister, Hazel Wolf.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joe P. Bradford of Forest; one daughter, Jeanne’ Rowland and her husband Dr. Steve of Laurel; one son, Joe C. Bradford and wife Rene’ of Forest; one sister, Mary Carol Watkins of Louisville; two brothers, Jimmy Stokes of Petal; and William Clark Stokes of Bogue Chitto; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers are Brad Rowland, Jason Rowland, Scott Rowland, Hunter Wolf, W.B. Madden, Jr. and Dwight Comans.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Forest United Methodist Church or Jasper County Nursing Home.
