Billy Zack Nutt, Sr.

Billy Zack Nutt, Sr.,87, a devoted and loving husband, father and Gran Gran, passed away on March 8, 2024, in Morton, MS, following a four year struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Billy was happiest when he was with his family. There was no greater joy for him than watching his children and grandchildren play sports or sing and dance. 

Billy loved all sports and in his youth excelled in baseball, basketball and bowling. Later in life he loved playing golf. He was also a wonderful gardener and could grow anything, but his tomatoes were his specialty. 

He was an electrician and retired from Armstrong World Industries after 42 years. He was a dedicated member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he was a long term deacon and served in numerous other capacities over the years.  

Billy is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of 58 years, Dot Nutt, as well as his parents RS and Mozelle Nutt, brothers Wayne Nutt and Larry Nutt, sisters Iwana Smith and Sarah Love Hickman. 

He is survived by his children, Bill Nutt (Lisa), Missy Gray (Mark) and Janie Simpson (John), his grandchildren, Tyler Gray (Brittney), Zack Gray (Jennie), Mary Grace Simpson, and Grant Simpson and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Helen Davis and one brother George Nutt. 

Services to honor the life of Billy will be held at Wolf Funeral Home in Morton, MS on Wednesday, March 13th. The visitation will take place from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The funeral will follow visitation at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Forkville, MS directly following the funeral.
