Billy Eugene Jones

Billy Eugene Jones, born on March 25, 1948, in Flora, Mississippi, entered eternal rest on August 31, 2025, in Meridian, Mississippi. A man of unwavering faith and deep humility, Billy loved his Lord God Almighty and embodied these qualities throughout his life.

Billy cherished the companionship of his beloved fur babies—Rosco, Bella, Chong, and Tom Tom. Known for his generous spirit, he often shared with them the delights of his meals, including honey buns and marshmallow pies, and even let Rosco indulge in a sip of Pepsi. The joy he found in feeding and caring for his pets reflected his nurturing nature.

His love for children was noteworthy, as he brought smiles and laughter to many young lives. Kids were drawn to him, and he reciprocated their affection wholeheartedly. Billy's whimsical charm was perhaps best demonstrated through his love for classic cartoons and western movies, with Scooby Doo being his all-time favorite. He found great pleasure in fishing, often regaling family and friends with tales of the “whoppers” he caught.

Billy is survived by his two children, three sisters, three brothers, and five grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will cherish his memory.

He was predeceased by his parents, Burley Dewitt and Willie Lynn Jones, his daughter, Brandy Payton, his grandson, Edwardo Jones, and five sisters and six brothers.

A graveside service to honor Billy's life will be held on September 6, 2025, at East Morton Baptist Cemetery in Morton, Mississippi, beginning at 11:00 AM. As we gather to pay our respects, we celebrate the legacy of love and joy that Billy Eugene Jones leaves behind, forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew him.
