Betty Carol Myers, a cherished member of the Scott and Rankin County communities, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at her residence in Forest, Mississippi. Born on January 15, 1949, in Forest, Mississippi, Mrs. Myers lived most of her life rooted in the area she dearly loved, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
A devoted member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church, Betty found great solace and joy in her faith throughout her lifetime. Her professional life reflected her dedication and hardworking nature as she contributed for many years at the Dollar General Store in Morton and Bill's Dollar Store in Pelehatchie, Mississippi. These roles allowed her to connect with the community and engage with people from all walks of life.
Betty’s passions extended beyond her work; she was an avid cook and a talented crochet artist. Many were blessed to experience the warmth and care she infused into her cooking, and her crocheted creations stand as a testament to her patience and creativity. However, it was her love for spending time with family that truly defined her spirit. Her home was a place of gathering filled with laughter, stories, and the enduring bonds of kinship.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Travis Myers, and his wife, Pamela, and her daughter, Cynthia Carol Sherrer. Betty’s family also includes her sister Linda Lane, who shared many heartfelt moments with her, and her special friend Sondra Henderson, whose companionship was a source of comfort and happiness. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jarrett Myers, Breeanna Hughes, Patricia Stevenson, Jasmine Baeza, William Stingley, Autumn Stingley, Angelina Temple, and Desiree Hughes, as well as six treasured great-grandchildren, each carrying forward the values and love Betty imparted.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Willie James Perry; her son, Michael Lee Myers; and her brothers Bill, Phil, Harry, and Jimmy Perry. Their memories remain deeply rooted in the hearts of all who knew them.
Betty Carol Myers’ life was a tapestry of faith, family, and community. She will be remembered with respect and affection for the kindness she showed, the bonds she nurtured, and the quiet strength she embodied. Her spirit remains present in the many lives she touched, a lasting beacon of love and devotion.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced. The Celebration of Life service will be held at the Calvary Assembly of God Church with Br. David Bryant and Bro. Joey Griffin officiating.
