Betty Ann Watkins Amos, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on August 1, 1957, Betty’s life was defined by her devotion to her family, her compassion for those around her, and her enduring spirit. Betty was a resident of Harperville, MS for the past 12 years, formerly of Lake, MS.  She loved spending time with her family and playing games on her phone.

Betty’s deep love for her family was evident to all who knew her. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Rebecca Watkins. She also leaves behind her siblings: Brenda King, her loving sister; and her two brothers, Jerry Derrick (Barbara) and Ricky Derrick (Julie), who have many treasured memories of growing up together, sharing in the joys and challenges that shaped their lives. As an anchor for her family, Betty’s steadfast presence touched each member in invaluable ways.

Betty’s legacy continues through her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward her warmth, her values, and her gentle guidance.

Betty’s life was shaped and enriched by the love of those who preceded her in death: her parents, Eugene and Ruby Derrick; her beloved husband, Noel Amos; her dear daughter, Latasha Watkins; and her grandchildren, Jessie Ray Holmes and Elizabeth Ruth Holmes. Their memories remain ever-present in the hearts of those who survive her, and her reunion with them now brings a measure of peace.

Family, friends, and all who knew Betty are invited to remember and celebrate her life during visitation, which will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Faith Tabernacle Worship Center, 4784 Morton-Marathon Rd, Morton, MS 39117.
