Clifton Bill Armstrong, 94, a resident of Forest passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Lackey Hospital, Forest, MS. Visitation will be today, January 28, 2011 at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton from 5:30 until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 9:30 until 10:45 am. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11:00 am in the chapel with burial following in the Morton Memorial Gardens, Morton, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Ted Hawkins. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton will handle the arrangements.
Mr. Armstrong had lived in Hillsboro, MS for the past 62 years, moving from Pisgah, MS. He was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church, Hillsboro, MS. He was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran and had worked with the U.S. Postal Services as a rural letter carrier for over 35 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to Quail Hunt, fish, and garden. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Forest, MS and member of the Mississippi Farm Bureau.
He was preceded in death by three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Armstrong of Forest; two daughters, Nancy Freeman and husband Mike of Tuscaloosa, AL; Sue Williams of Forest; two grandchildren, Jessica Freeman Parrish and husband Charles, Los Angeles, CA, Leslie Williams Henderson and husband Zac of Forest; three great-grandchildren, Kennedi Henderson, Milo Henderson, and Linus Henderson; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
