In Loving Memory of Our Father

Michael Albert Bergin, born May 4th, 1955, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on August 18th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was a man of deep and unwavering Catholic faith. He did not believe that being a follower of Jesus Christ was simply about saying you believed. He believed that your faith was revealed in the way you lived your life—in the way you loved others, cared for your family, served those around you, and showed kindness when no one was watching. His faith was not merely something he spoke about; it was the foundation upon which he lived.

For him, family was everything. He was the proud father of four beautiful children and the grandfather of twelve beautiful grandchildren, and there was no greater joy in his life than loving and providing for them. He taught his family, not only through his words, but through the example of his life: keep the faith, work hard, love deeply, take care of your own, and always do what is right.

He was the strongest and hardest-working man we have ever known. He found great pride and joy in providing for his family and making sure those he loved were cared for. He especially loved cooking and gathering family and friends around his table. To him, food was more than something to eat—it was another way to love people, to bring them together, and to make them feel at home.

He loved fiercely, worked tirelessly, and gave generously. His family knew they could count on him—no matter what, no matter when, and without question. His presence was a source of strength, and his love was something that could always be counted on.

His faith gave him peace. He trusted in his Lord and Savior and believed in the promise of eternal life. He knew that death was not the end, but a passage into the arms of the God he had faithfully served throughout his life.

His greatest legacy will not be measured by what he owned or what he accomplished, but by the lives he touched and the faith and love he passed on to his family.

We will miss his presence at our table, his strength beside us, his stories, his cooking, and the comfort of knowing he was always there. We will carry him with us—in the way we love one another, in the way we care for our families, in the way we serve others, and in the way we live our faith.

He is survived by his wife, Leasa Skinner Bergin; his four children, Joe Bergin (Kristen), Kate Bergin VanEtten (Chris), John Bergin (Leah), and Marty Ann Lindsey (Brian); eleven grandchildren; four brothers, Chuck Bergin, Marty Bergin, Burny Bergin and Bob Bergin; and one sister, Mary Beth Dye and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mamie Ruth Bergin, and his grandson, Peyton Michael Bergin.
