Mr. Oliver McCrory, age 79, passed away on Friday March 25, 2016 at his residence in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held on Monday March 28, 2016 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday March 29, 2016 at 11:00AM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS. Burial will follow in the Hodge Hill Cemetery in Morton, MS. Officiating will be Bro. Randy Rigney. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. McCrory was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS. He was a long time member of the Morton Church of God, where he served as a Trustee, played his guitar, and sang praises to his God. He also served the people of this area for many years working for the Scott County Sherriff’s Department, the Pelahatchie Police Department, the Brandon Police Department, and the Morton Police Department where he retired in 2005. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion and was very active in politics. He was also a member of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association and was a National Guard Korean War Veteran.
Mr. McCrory was preceded in death by his wife, Doris McKinley; his parents, Hutch and Bell McCrory; two brothers, Oscar and Earl McCrory; and one sister, Lillie McLemore. He is survived by four daughters, Becky Frith (Bobby) of Morton, MS, Jeannie McNamee (Bruce) of Fort Worth, TX, Cindy Jones (Scott) of Morton, MS, and Lisa McGehee of Sandhill, MS; three sisters, Zula Roland Taylor of Pearl, MS, Robbie Townsend of Brandon, MS, Ida Walker of Pelahatchie, MS; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be B.J. Frith, Chris Knight, Sethe Clay, Mark Jones, Jeremy Fletcher, and Johnathon Bates. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hutch McGehee, Harlen McGehee, Destin Moore, and Josh McNamee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to Juvenile Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice.
